The Government Is Determined to Remove Obstacles for Economic Actors
1404/07/30Report from the Public Relations Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran:
The ceremony for the 29th National Export Day was held at the Summit Conference Hall with the presence of President Masoud Pezeshkian, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Atabak, Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi, Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, Samad Hassanzadeh, President of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Reza Alizadeh, Chair of the Industry and Mines Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, along with a number of managers and traders.
At the event, President Pezeshkian expressed hope that the problems raised by economic activists during the ceremony could be resolved, stating:
“I firmly believe, as Imam Ali (AS) said, that merchants and producers are the foundation and backbone of societal stability. Therefore, we must do everything possible to facilitate their conditions and promote their businesses.”
Referring to the volume of the country’s trade exchanges and comparing it to other countries, the President said:
“Personally, I have never been satisfied with being behind or weaker than others in any arena. Regarding this, I ask why our foreign trade volume should remain below $100 billion instead of increasing to $1 trillion. People achieve what they envision and demand; if we do not set ambitious goals for ourselves, we will not achieve great accomplishments.”
Pezeshkian emphasized that accelerating the facilitation and improvement of the business environment for economic activists requires serious and effective cooperation between the government and the private sector. He stressed:
“I believe it would have been appropriate for all economic members of the Cabinet, as well as the Foreign Minister, to be present today to hear your concerns. We are in government to solve your problems; otherwise, our presence in these positions would have no justification.”
Reiterating the government’s strong determination to remove obstacles and ease the business environment for economic actors, the President stated:
“It is up to us all to decide what the future should look like; for a better future, we will devote as much time and effort as necessary.”
He further added:
“We will work together to build the future that Iran and Iranians deserve, and on this path, we will not yield to any limitations or barriers. We are determined to reform and resolve any issue that acts as an internal sanction and causes difficulties for economic actors. The heads of the legislative and judicial branches are fully cooperating with the government in this regard. Moreover, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has repeatedly emphasized the need to facilitate economic activity. It has been our inefficiency and inability that have left many problems in this area unresolved.”
The President also referred to the government’s efforts and actions to improve Iran’s foreign relations, especially with neighboring countries, stating:
“The government is making every effort to enhance the conditions for your economic interactions and exchanges with foreign countries, particularly with neighbors.”
Regarding the private sector’s role in supporting government efforts to improve the economic activity environment, Pezeshkian said:
“Economic guilds and associations must closely monitor law enforcement to prevent a few units from violating regulations and giving opponents an excuse to disrupt the entire economic activity environment. Let us all exert our utmost efforts to reach the best possible status; if we truly believe in this, we will either find a way or make one.”
It is worth mentioning that during the 29th National Export Day ceremony, 46 exporters were honored in various categories including Medal-winning Exporters, Outstanding Exporters, National Exemplary Exporters, and Appreciated Exporters. These individuals were selected from among 500 exporters registered in the evaluation system of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.
