Identifying and Supporting Leading Export Projects / The High Potential of the Energy Sector in Generating Foreign Exchange ✅
1404/06/13According to the Public Relations Department of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, during a meeting between the Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran and members of the Energy Export Federation, attended by several directors and deputies of the Organization, Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi expressed satisfaction over the establishment of the Energy Export Federation. He emphasized that the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran will support private sector initiatives, particularly those of the Energy Federation, since their activities align with the government’s overarching goal of increasing export volumes.
He stated that innovation in taxation processes for industries is a necessity, and that in addition to utilizing past experiences, new approaches must be explored.
The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade considered Iranian trade centers abroad as the private sector’s commercial attachés, adding that the Trade Promotion Organization has authorized these centers to officially bear the title of “Islamic Republic of Iran Trade Center” in foreign countries. In fact, he noted, the duties of commercial attachés and trade centers are essentially the same, and there is hope that their performance will improve compared to the past.
Dehghan Dehnavi stressed the need to support companies capable of achieving a breakthrough in exports, adding: “Our effort is to connect small companies with low export capacity to export management companies so that foreign trade can be pursued through this linkage. This approach is currently being seriously followed in the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran. Clearly, to achieve an export leap, we must move beyond surplus goods exports. In more precise terms, an export breakthrough originates from investment in exports.”
He also noted that promoting export-oriented production is one of the three key strategies of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran. “The government has issued a resolution regarding this year’s slogan, and the Trade Promotion Organization has been tasked with identifying leading export projects and supporting them in various formats. This matter has also been raised in the Supreme Council of Exports, where the Organization has set specific commitments for itself,” he added.
Highlighting the vast potential of the energy sector in boosting Iran’s export volume, the Head of the Trade Promotion Organization said: “Investment in this field is a necessity, and the private sector must enter it with determination. The National Development Fund will also provide support in this path. The private sector must develop leading projects and specify the extent to which these projects will increase export volumes.”
During the meeting, members of the Energy Export Federation and related industries also shared their perspectives on boosting exports and overcoming foreign trade challenges. They further proposed signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran and the Energy Export Federation, which was presented to the Head of the Organization.
